Programs in the
church, community and world
Members of this congregation are busy every
week in worship services, fellowship activities, programs for teens and
pre-teens, maintenance of the church and its grounds, Camp New Hope, community
involvement and much more.
By working together, each of us gains the opportunity to use our skills and
talents in ways that brighten the lives of others while demonstrating our faith
in God’s goodness. New Hope’s programs often mix the practical and the spiritual
together to enrich the lives of those who participate. What is practical becomes
spiritual, and what is spiritual becomes practical.
The mission committee guides the congregation's efforts in serving the community
at large and focuses mostly on those who are disadvantaged or experiencing
unforeseen emergencies. The committee regularly evaluates unmet needs in
surrounding neighborhoods to determine where New Hope should direct its
attention.
Currently, we contribute resources of time and money to:

A recent fundraiser in May 2011
called “Desserts for Disaster” raised money
for disaster relief for those affected
in Japan by the earthquake and tsunami as
well as for local disaster relief for those
affected by the recent tornadoes in our
Presbytery of New Hope area.
Here on Earth, God’s work must truly be our own.
